i don't understand why they didn't make airplay more robust than the incredibly limiting incarnation that exists on 10.8.
on iOS devices, you at least have the flexibility to either mirror or push fullscreen video to the tv while keeping a separate interface on the phone/tablet screen.
is there really any hardware reason why a computer can't push video to the tv as a background process so you can continue to use the system for other things during playback?
