When trying to download the update to iPad via iTunes, I keep getting a message that the software download for the iPad was corrupted. I have tried unattaching and reattaching the iPad to my laptop but keep getting the same message.

Is this because the iPad is jailbroken? Hopefully there is a fix, right?

1) you cant update a jailbroken iDevice. you need to do a full restore with the new software.

2) if you're for some reason having trouble downloading the ipsw through itunes, iclarified has a hard link to all the software. just google how to download and install.

Updating iTunes

Thanks much for the replies.

What is DFU mode?

updating ipad

I was able to reset the ipad, and the update process began.

But I am STILL getting the corrupt message.

Is there something else I can do??

I'm not that crazy about the whole jailbreak thing, as I can't get most of the jailbreak apps to work.....Can I restore the ipad to its orignal settings?

Thanks for any help.
