In Google Maps, (v3.0.0) Preferences> Settings> Maps History, I must have 250 locations identified (most I have not been to nor recall having ever set).

Clearing these locations individually is painfully slow and often doesn't work. I have tried deleting the app and reinstalling, but the old locations persist.

Is there an easy way to clear this setting?

Apparently, there is not a solution for this problem. Perhaps it's up to Google to fix.

Still, I find it odd/unusual that with over 325 views, there has not even been a comment...

Try this:

1. Log into your google account on a computer.
2. Go to maps.
3. Bottom right there is a gear symbol for settings, click that and hit Web History.
4. Left hand side go to maps
5. Hit the blank square next to "remove items" to select everything.
6. Then hit "Remove Items" button.

Bingo! You were/are right on. Of course, it took several trips to the Remove All button as I had maps going back several years, but it worked.

And so to you, kind sir, bravo! And with thanks to you, all is again, right with the world. :D
