macbook pro 15" MD103LL/A nvidia GT 650m gpu related?

item powers on and posts however when booting up to the os the unit freezes and display black and white checkered pattern. I am certain that this is a GPU error when switching over to the nvidia gt 650m GPU. How anyone found a solution or work around this? did nvidia once again put defective video cards! please let me if anyone has suffered from this issue.

No problem here

My MBPr is almost 2years old and is working absolutely fine.

Try booting without the magsafe adapter connected. Then, hopefully OSX won't enable the 650M and you'll be able to check if the problem is really the gpu.

thank you brdeveloper and alphaod for your replies. booting without the magsafe didn't help and nothing on the external. I am now getting code Debuggr paninc backtrace faulting CPU 00xx44 and return address.
