256GB SSD owners - SM0256 or SD0256F?

I've got a friend who's very particular about all the tiny details, and although I've told him that he won't notice any noticeable difference between the SD0256F and SM0256F models, he still insists that even the slightest bit of difference will be nagging at his subconscious.

So he's asked me to post a poll here to see whether people who ordered an rMBP with 256GB SSD get more of the SD variant than the SM variant, or the other way round. If there's more people that received SD models than the SM, then he's going to shell out extra for the 512GB variant (which is only available in the SM flavor).

Its not all about those speed results. The sandisk holds up better once the ssd reaches its storage limit.

Do you guys have any sources to back up these claims?

I'm a happy SD owner btw. Of course I wouldn't mind the faster SM SSD, but in the end I don't care so much :)

Yup, I've seen that before. I remembered you were the guy from Aussie that posted that.

My friend's bloody crazy on I/O intensive stuff like heavy video editing. But at that rate, he'll be better off with a base 15" instead. It seems like he'll be better off with a base 15" rMBP.

Neither can I, but my friend's one of those really bloody picky blokes. I swear, he'll drive me up the Berlin Wall pretty soon at the rate he's going.

I've told him to just go for the base 15" rMBP, considering that he's doing I/O intensive stuff and video editing. Besides, a quad core would help him one hell of a lot for his stuff.
