I have a Macbook mid 2007 model.

A DVD is struck inside this Macbook. It plays the movie perfectly but I just cannot eject it. I searched all the Mac forums and tried everything there is available but I just cannot eject this DVD.

I spoke with a technician and he said he has to open the entire machine and then only he can remove the struck DVD. I don't want that to be done as he may inadvertently damage the machine.

I don't mind the DVD to be permanently struck. The DVD itself is an animation cartoon movie and it is not important for me to retrieve it. I want to know if leaving the DVD in the machine permanently can cause any harm to the computer. Also I want to know if it will affect the battery consumption or the speed and performance in the laptop.

Regards,

Abdul Shaikh
