I'm getting an annoying hiss from my iMac when I run the audio out to my PA system. It's not a million dollar system or anything, but it's decent and I get no noise when I run an iPod through it.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Does it have an optical input? If so, just buy an optical cable.

It needs to be "optical miniplug to toslink" (miniplug is the adapter that goes into your iMac - it's like a mini-jack).

I'm currently using the headphone output jack. I'll google the optical input to see if I have one.
