No such thing as a self-powered TB dock - all of them have external power supplies.

The OP is after DOCKS, with USB 3.0 and FireWire ports... not the same thing.

I see, I read it as he's wanting a hard drive dock that doesn't use the USB or FW ports on his Mac... definitely no such thing as a self-powered docking station.
