Hello - my partner is having a nightmare with her iPhone 5 (5 weeks out of warranty).
1. Apps (which have previously been opened) open with a white background. You have to go into the multitasking area and close, then restart the app.
2. The battery is awful - it can go from 80% to 10% in 10 minutes (no apps open).
3. It reboots at least once a day.

I'm guessing its a hardware issue - any suggestions apart from a complete backup and wipe ?

Sounds simplistic but: bluetooth &WiFi off? Location services off? Screen brightness turned down (& not just from the slider control)? Even tho it's "OoW" tried wandering into an Apple Store & looking befuddled?

My dad used to say "Always ask. Worst they can say is no."

None of those items would cause that kind of drain.

It sounds like water damage or a battery that has gone bad. I'd do as you suggested, and take it to a Genius and see if they'd do anything.

Oops...just blanked out the 80%-10% part ...does sound like a battery gone south all of a sudden.
