My messages take up about 5.3 gb of space on my iPhone 5 iOS 7. I need space for music. Does anyone know how to clear it? Everytime i go into imsg and delete conversations (i have about 100), they simply come back when I restart the phone. Any ideas?

they come back? Thats weird.... Can't you just go into Settings and then storage and delete stuff from there? Im on iOS 11 and haven't been on iOS 7 for a while so im not sure what has changed in the meantime...
