Hey fellas, I got the Yosemite beta today (which is freakin amazing) and was curious if we have to wait til the full release to try out the SMS and phone call (bluetooth) feature.

If not, could someone point out where to set them up? I used Spotlight but it did not find anything with the SMS label. Thanks.

It's a Beta, so not all features will be working.

Apple also warned users that some Yosemite features, including several that Federighi demonstrated Monday during the WWDC keynote, will be unavailable in the preview. "Since the beta software is unfinished, some new features will not be available, such as phone calls, SMS, Handoff, Instant Hotspot, and iCloud Documents," Apple said.

hmm...SMS works fine in the Messages app, for me?!

It's a setting in the messages app that needs enabling.

Phone calls in FaceTime don't work yet.

I didn't "set anything up". It just works. Try having someone actually SEND YOU AN SMS.

It did not work for me either in my testing and first thing I did was check to see if there was a setting for it. I did not find any settings related to SMS.

It's not quite working yet in Beta 1, and Apple even said this. Some people are actually having success with it working, some people have yet to have it working. Relax, it's a beta. Not everything is going to work.

I can't even get my iPhone to connect to my macbook via bluetooth. says my macbook is not supported. anyone got a fix?

system preferences -> general ->Check 'Allow Handoff between this Mac and iCloud Devices'

So I can receive SMS texts from people, but when I try to respond to them in Messages.app, it keeps trying to send an iMessage. Anyone know how to fix this?

I feel like that quote should be stickied at the top of this forum. DP1 is heavily handicapped and many posters dont seem to realize that, even if they are actual devs.

Quick question. I have the iPhone 6 and a MacBook Pro retina. I checked all my setting and they are set right and I still can't send sms messages from my Mac. Any suggestions?
