Hi,

Total noob here to bootcamp, I have a Mac Pro 3,1 w 500gb hdd and 10.9 installed.

What I want to do is install windows on an ssd. I'm not particularly concerned if mac os x is on ssd too, but to my understanding it has to be, so I may as well have it on the ssd as well.

I am going to buy a 120gb ssd+ icy dock to put it in the mac pro. I am not sure of the process to get windows on it.

Do I first need to install 10.9 on the ssd, then make 2 partitions and get a copy of windows 7 professional 64bit, can I just buy an oem dvd and install windows from this?

Cheers.

No, just plug in the new SSD and then run bootcamp is enough.
