Yea so my macbook pro has been freezing up more than usual.. I'd say roughly 3-5 times an hour. It will only freeze for maybe 5-10 seconds and i do NOT get an error message or anything so I was just wondering what I could do to decrease the freezing.

If you don't have a backup of your data get one now, some possibilities:

  1. Its the HDD on its way out, read/write retries in some cases causing the delay.
  2. Something is using a burst of CPU or HDD access, blocking what you are doing for short periods.
  3. Its just the application you are using getting data or processing as normal (if it tends to happen with a single app).

To work on finding which is the cause, look for disk errors using perhaps DriveDX, look for usage spikes of CPU/HDD in the Activity Monitor....but take that backup first, just in case. Better yet, start using Time Machine and keep using it...if you don't already.
