Hey guys! So the obvious answer is make a bootable DVD using the Mavericks DMG from the app store but as it happens I can not log onto the app store as there is a Trojan on that hard drive. Are there any utilities that allow to wipe the boot hard drive securely? I tried to burn recovery hd to a DVD but that didn't work, the DVD was not readable... Any advice?

How do I securely wipe the boot disk from a RW DVD?

You can use this utility from Apple along with a 1GB or larger USB key to make a recovery key. Then option key boot to the USB key and use Disk Util to secure erase your disk.
