Hi all,

I am having trouble getting video files off my SDXC card, whenever I insert it into my Macbook it would say 'The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer.', same thing happening when I use it with my DSLR (600d).

Inside the SD card there are video files that are really important to me, so I don't want to format the card.

If you have had the a similar issues before and know a method to solve this, please let me know!

Many Thanks,

Have you tried it on a windows machine, and in different card readers?

I initially thought reformatting it was not an option, if it says it's not readable you are beyond that point usually. But actually, if you can reformat it, using the quick option, a data recovery app may be able to recover the data, however I think it's very low probability because with a video file you are looking at large files which will be scattered about the place in fragments and problematic to stitch up.
Have you tried Data Rescue 3 to see what it says? And if it can't access the drive, try a reformat and then dr3. If it won't reformat then a specialist company is your only, slim and expensive, hope.

Try.....

reading the card in another machine o reader (ie a Windows machine). If fail, consider give Stellar Phoenix for Mac a try. This software is very helpful in situations like this, but takes time to recover all the files it can.
