Hi people,

I have decided to buy a Macbook Air 13" from Bestbuy in USA, its a great deal which I can't miss. I am from the UK and I will not be receiving the Macbook until August when my friend will bring it over here for me.

I am not an expert about batteries. I have read that you should never let your battery go completely dead and because I am ordering now, the battery will be uncharged for 2 months.

My question is: How is that going to affect my battery life?

Thanks for your help

It is not going to affect battery life, since the computer is off the whole time and not using the battery.

And, although controversial, you can let the battery go dead every once in a while

Beat me to it :D

Thanks, I guess because the macbook will be unused/brand new in box...its not gonna make much difference.

The problem lies when people let a battery sit completely dead for months or years. All Macs ship with at least 50 % battery power from the factory. My MacBook was made in June and I did not get it until December in 2012 and the battery is still in great shape.

That's great to hear. Ordered the 13inch Base model from bestbuy for $811 inc tax. Can't wait to get hold of it in August!!!
