Touch ID lag on 7.1.1

How much time it takes to unlock after you click on the home button?

For me, it's about 2 sec, sometimes I lift my thumb after clicking once and then go to click again, but by then it unlocks. Initially, when I got the phone it was much faster (on 7.0). Since upgrading to 7.1.1 it takes a little longer, however it does work every time.
I just wanted to check with everyone that it's a software thing and not something related to hardware.
 
Works fast for me, even more accurate and faster after 7.1.
I find if there's sweat or moisture on my finger it can cause problems.
 
I've noticed that it's definitely slower under 7.1.1 but far more accurate. Whereas under 7.0 when it did read it, would do so instantly but still seemed less reliable.
 
Mine is a little inconsistent. It almost always works the first time, but sometimes it reads my fingerprint instantly and sometimes there is a lag of a second or so.
