Why no cmd-d diagnostics after ssd upgrade?

Hi,
I have recently upgraded with a ssd performing a clean install.
Why can I not bring up diagnostics with holding down cmd + d upon booting?
It actually seems that a small hidden drive is in place when looking in the drive utility.

Any ideas?
