I recently installed a Samsung Evo 250gb SSD into a late 2011 13" Macbook Pro and tried installing OS X Lion onto the system through the recovery disk. The download went off without a hitch but then the installation stalled several times, so I restarted the computer and eventually I decided to erase and then reformat the disk using disk utility and was hit with the message "Mac OS X installation couldn't be completed" and gave me access to the log. Also when installing the SSD, I replaced the battery with a new one purchased directly from Apple via Amazon.
