I sincerely hope not. This latest gimmick for water resistance is rather tedious and the 'solution' of cheap flaps, which feel like you're going to break them every time you charge your phone, is awful. I briefly considered the Samsung S5 a few weeks ago, but the plastic water resistance flaps put me right off. The Sony phones have the same lousy flap arrangement too.

Wow, that's their water resistance technology?:D
I'd rather not and prefer the non-water resistant iphone then.

Agreed. I have never gotten any of my electronic devices wet in the decades I've been using them; a little situational awareness goes a long way.

good for you!

i haven't either, but in that chance that situational awareness fails, be nice to have that feature...but not like those flappies.

I'd like waterproofing of some kind. Waterproof cases are often bulky and compromise usability to some degree.

Possible but there hasn't been any rumors so I doubt it.

I think they should have made the 5C water resistant, that would really give it an extra plus!
