Title says all. Is this possible?

I recently ordered an unlocked 5C online (you can't buy unlocked in stores in Canada) but now with the back-to-school offer I'm hoping to order another and return the first so I can get the free gift card. Can I do this in stores or will I have to mail it back?

No need to return it. Call them or take it in and if you're within like 30 days they will just make it right to save the trouble of returning and rebuying.

Not just Apple does this, pretty much all stores do including Amazon.

So I just walk into the Apple Store with my receipt and they'll hand me the gift card?

The Apple stores in Canada sell unlocked iPhones off contract. If you want a subsided iPhone it'll be locked to the carrier.

Apple retail doesn't return online sales, contact the seller for a RMA. I could be wrong but I recall they don't, try calling the store and asking. You'll also need to setup a Genius appointment.

He might be right about no online returns at retail so your best bet is to call the support number. They can handle these requests.
