Will this game ruin my macbook pro?

I have a macbook pro retina 15.4 inch intel core i7 2.6 GhZ. Modern Warfare 2 was just recently ported to mac . The specs were posted on steam.



Operating System: 10.9.2 (Mavericks)
CPU Processor: Intel i3 (Dual-Core)
CPU Speed: 2.2GHz
Memory: 4 GB RAM
Hard Disk Space: 13 GB
Video Card (ATI): Radeon HD 4850
Video Card (NVidia): Geforce 640M
Video Card (Intel): Iris
Video Memory (VRam): 512 MB
Peripherals: Macintosh mouse and keyboard

My question is, could I run this properly, without harming my mac, or causing it to overheat? If i play this game on my mac will it break it or ruin it because it is a game that will be using alot of cpu?

Well, heat will shorten the life of any electronic component. Unless your computer has an undiagnosed defect, however, you will have gotten rid of the system long before the increases in temperature will take its toll.

In other words, buy the game, play, and enjoy.
 
There is no game, or software, for what matters, in existence, that can 'ruin' you macbook pro. Of course you should not run your laptop on 100% load 24/7, as its is not really designed for that kind of usage.
 
its actually an intel i7 2.3 ghz if that makes a difference.

If a $2000+ computer broke because you played a game on it, it wouldn't be a very good computer...

The computer's firmware will turn it off automatically in the rare instance that it did overheat. I own the same laptop as you I think, and I played that same game yesterday. Have fun.

People these days paranoid everything.

I would suggest you not to use it too. Frame it and hang it. Wait, it may fall so just put it in a safe.

maybe not ruin, but cause issues...possibly "ruining" components.

But, the game should be no issue. Give 'er
