I have plagued with about a dozen "spammers" who call my iPhone from time to time. I have assigned each of them as a separate contact and given each a a name (Spammer 1, Spammer 2, et cetera), and I have them "blocked" through the iPhone app.

I'd like to combine all these pests into a single contact, list all their numbers within the contact, and have them in a group as "blocked" callers.

I tried to do this, but their calls were not blocked.

Suggestions?

Thanks!

No need to create contacts. On your recent call list, tap the (I) next to their number and scroll to the bottom. Tap Block this Caller.

Why fill up your contacts with blocked people.

Is there a way to block "unknown" calls?

It depends on which carrier you use. I use ATTWS and VZW. ATTWS does not have a means to block restricted, unavailable and private numbers, but VZW does through their FamilyBase paid option ($5 per month, 3 months free to try it out). I use FamilyBase for my work accounts, and CityID on some of my phones - cheapest therapy I know of.

No. Because there is no number associable with the caller, there is no way to block it.

Which was the deal breaker for me and why I bought a Galaxy Note 3.

Will return to the iPhone when it makes a 5.5" phone and a simple way to block any number known or unknown including ranges of number starting with similar area code numbers...

This is a simple phone function and nothing to do with carrier.
