Hi

I saw this on a popular UK deals site, but thought I should post it here in case anyone was thinking about buying an SSD.

Amazon have a Samsung Evo SSD at £164.99 for 500GB - that's 33p per GB, which is a pretty good deal for a high capacity SSD: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/...&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=455344027&pf_rd_i=468294

As far as I can tell, it fits cMBPs, and I presume iMacs though I'm not certain. Seems like a good cheap way to get a high-capacity SSD!

Not too sure on the speeds though, maybe someone can enlighten me.

Thats about normal price now, they have come down a lot. Crucial even do one thats a few pounds cheaper.

Wow, well that is surprising. Thanks all for linking to other, even cheaper SSDs! I thought the Samsung one seemed fairly cheap, but I haven't really been keeping tabs on prices. That Toshiba one is £130 for 512GB?!

I may have to take the plunge and actually buy one soon. I've always thought they were too expensive but they're actually becoming quite affordable, especially for 0.5-1 TB capacities.

Samsung EVO love

If you look around these forums, the samsung EVO line is currently considered the best compromise on reliability performance and price for SSDs
