Yosemite beta has increased my Macbook Air battery by 2 hours

Hope so. I saw zero improvement in battery life from Mavericks even though it was advertised as helping it.

That's an interesting find. An extra two hours just from a new, and albeit, beta software.

I've noticed an improvement too, particularly when I've got my external WD Passport Drive plugged in, since that royally burned my battery in Mavericks. I get at least another hour under those conditions, so it may be even more without the drive plugged in.

Hate to crash the party, but I've seen a decrease of about 2.5 hours. My 2013 MBA is also getting significantly hotter. So it may be a rogue service/app going crazy.

No doubt it's a process or service that's causing the problem. I keep Activity Monitor up and watch for them so I can kill the process and keep from over heating.

This should be taken with a significant bowl of salt, but check out my estimated time remaining.

Lucky for some, isn't it.

I'm barely getting an hour from my 2011 MacBook Pro.

Then again, it could be something to do with the fact there's a giant floaty exclamation mark demanding that I replace the battery immediately

Guess it's time to spend those Amazon vouchers on batteries...

On a more serious note, even with my battery in such a poor state, I'm getting about half an hour extra from Yosemite than I'm getting from Mavericks (dual-booting on the same machine). So that's promising!

That's simply great. Battery is still draining fast on my MBA...

Mine too. Dramatic decrease in battery life. It was okay for a little bit. But has become just terrible. Lost 10% in just a few minutes. I have a mid 2013 Macbook Air. Used to have great battery life.

Odd. Battery jumped from 10 hours for me to 16! Yes I measured.

10 hrs 30 mins for me on the new 2014 rMBP 13". So about +1 hr compared to Mavericks at least the estimated time remaining.

For me (Public Beta 1):

Remaining charge : 100%
Time remaining : 5:01
Time on battery : 0:06

I am pretty sure that my battery life has been reduced. I am going to end up with less than 5 hours on a full charge. the specs give an "up to 7 hours".

This is basically doing nothing but web browsing. Bluetooth is off. I am jealous that my wife's 2013 is supposed to get "up to 12 hours". Blah. :roll eyes:

I will not put the Yosemite beta on hers. Probably would freak her out! The design is so different.
