iPad black screen

My Ipad 1 screen went black while I was using it. I have reset it and even restored it back to factory settings. I can see the screen in the apps.How do I know if I need a new LCD or another part related to the display?

Also how long have you been using it? Does it have any damage? It is going to be hard to determine without taking it to an apple store or something like that. Good luck though.
