OS X TV question

For gaming I just got a new iMAC but looking at getting either ps4 or Xbox One (leaning towards ps4) I am thinking about getting a 1080 plasma but I am worried about natural light in the room causing glare. Anyways the real question is for gaming both ps4/:apple:/xbox on the big screen tv does:

720p vs 1080p make a noticeable difference?
60ghz vs 120ghz refresh rate make a noticeable difference?
Any recommendations on gaming tv 40inch plus within $800 price range?
