Why are my Photos in 3 different places on my iPhone?

I have the iPhone 5s, latest iOS on there...

I was using Explorer and notice my photos are on my phone 3 separate times, in the following folders. DCIM, Camera Roll and 63182479.

This is wasting space on my phone. According to iTunes, I have 1500 photos on my phone, but when I look at my phone it lists only 500 in Camera Roll.
