Hi

Just ordered an iMac and recently bought Harman Kardon Nova speakers that have Bluetooth and Optical input

I was wondering if i would get a better sound with the Optical out from the imac than with the BT

Because the digital out goes out from a jack port not a real Optical out

Thx

Well, the optical out is a real optical out, regardless of its form factor. I'm guessing BT will compress the audio data, but how much impact that will have will depend on how your audio is stored. If the speakers are going to be near the Mac, I would go for a cable option every time.

hi

thanks for your response

yes, speakers will be just around the imac

i was confused by the formfactor and thought that i would need an adaptor, therefore would lose some quality in the signal

i'll go for it then
