Hi all,

I have a MacPro late 2013 (ME294).

I'm connecting it to a AOC Monitor, 23" via VGA (With thunderbolt - VGA Adapter).

I'm using Win8 (because I have to use a specific program).

I had problems when I first tried, for the resolution, because it was allowing me to use maximum 1280*1024. Then, I do not know how, I could select 1920*1080

Today, again, it is not showing 1920*1080 option anymore. Not in Windows, not in Mac OS.

In MacOS, I tried to use "option button while pressing scaled" and chosen resolution 1920 * 1080. Was terrible.

Now, in Windows, I have gone to Nvidia Panel and from customs I choose 1920x1080. I am not sure this is ok, as I start to have ache on my eyes. I 'm not sure if this is because I 'm trying to solve this problem for last 8 hours or if it is because of changing resolution from Nvidia Panel.

Is anyone knows, if there is an offical solution for having 1920*1080 properly? You might say this is because of the cable, but I was using this with my Samsung notebook which had Intel graphic card and I was getting 1920*1080 in the same monitor, with the same VGA cable perfectly.

Thanks in advance for helping :)

VGA doesn't like high resolutions all that much. Try either lowering it or using another (preferably digital) input such as DVI, DP or HDMI.
