Quick question. I just got my Mac two weeks ago so I've got a lot to learn. but i had somethings on my desktop and was just messing around with them... but then i realized this is nothing like windows where icons don't fall into certain positions... they are free to move around... so i was wondering how do i reset the icon positions on the desktop? i like it when things look even.

Hi,
in the Finder : minimize the window (orange button, or Cmd + m), then in the menu bar, on top of screen : "View", "Sort by..."
Or do a right click to get some sorting and aligning options.

By default, I think many of us keep the desktop completely clear unless we're working on a project.
