Hard drive from 2009 unibody MBP to early 2011 MBP. Will it work?

If I swap out a hard drive from my old 2009 13 unibody MacBook Pro and put it in an early 2011 17 MacBook Pro, when i boot it up, will everything work like normal?
 
As long as the hard drive has 10.6.8 or later on it, it will work correctly and without a problem.
