hey, i have a weird problem on my iPhone. ill try to post as most info as i can

i was in my car, watching a youtube video and the phone was connected to the handsfree via bluetooth (i was parked waiting for someone so no need to panic).

midway through the video, i got a call. the video paused and safari went to the background, putting the phone interface on (as it always does).

the call ended, and i wanted to get back to safari.

i clicked on the safari icon, and it went grey (like anytime you click on an app, just before it launches) but safari wasn't launched.

i clicked on the home button to un-grey the icon. i then clicked it again, but still no response.

sometimes clicking the power button helps when apps get stuck, so i did. the phone locked with the appropriate unlocking sound.

i then tried to unlock it - but nothing. the screen remained black.
i tried clicking the home button, the power button but no change.

the phone can still accept calls and make them (if i use the handsfree interface) but nothing other than that.
if i click and hold the home button, Siri pops up, but that not much of a help.

i tried to connect to the power supply and my computer - but no change either.

any idea what to do? I think that maybe letting the battery run dry would solve this, but I'm not expecting much.

edit: it sounds very similar to the issues this guy faced: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1528450/

edit2: reading said thread i pressed power+home until the apple logo showed (i was not aware of this option). phone works again.
