Hello!

I've got a Macbook Pro 13' mid 2010. The battery had run out (just 2h of battery time on 100% charge) so i bought a new one on Ebay.

battery link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Original-Genuine-Apple-MacBook-Pro-13-A1278-Akku-A1322-661-5229-Battery-/121392086528?pt=Laptop_Batteries&hash=item1c43883e00

Then i followed these instructions from ifixit for the installation of the battery.
https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/MacBook+Pro+13-Inch+Unibody+Mid+2010+Battery+Replacement/4300

Now to the problem: When I started the computer it seems like it can't find the new battery. The battery symbol looks like a battery with an x in it. [ x ]-
If i unplug the power cord the computer dies.

What I've done so far is to reset the SMC on the computer by turning it of, push the left shift + ctrl + option button at the same time and then start the computer again. It didn't seem to help.

Now. What can I do?

I wouldn't trust or recommend any non-Apple battery, due to the number of problems reported with "knockoff" batteries. Also, there is no assurance that knockoff batteries have the same charging technology that Apple uses, involving the battery, the MagSafe adapter and the Mac's logic board. The link below should answer most, if not all, of your battery/charging questions. If you haven't already done so, I highly recommend you take the time to read it.
