Is there a way to download the logs / packets sent & received from sites visited through my Airport Extreme?
Are you looking for basic web filtering and logging? Is there a way to download the logs / packets sent & received from sites visited through my Airport Extreme?
Not sure what you really mean.
If you want to see what is being up/downloaded through your Apple Router on your network this is free:
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/snmp-test-utility/id441785756?mt=12
This should work. I basically want to monitor what my kids are doing on my network without tracking the history.
Hopefully you have an older Extreme (the non-tower models), because Apple removed SNMP support from the new tower models.
You can use a service like OpenDNS to log and filter browsing through the router. Why exactly are you doing this if I may ask?Yeah I have the new versions. Got it a few weeks ago. Any other program to retrieve this data?

A good filtering and logging alternative would be a DNS service like Open DNS.Not from your router since Apple removed SNMP support from that model. There are other routers that have pretty extensive monitoring like this. Also take a look at OS X built in parental controls.

Open DNS will do logging for free of sites accessed. It is not on a machine by machine basis but rather a logging of all sites accessed through the router.Yes, I saw your comment earlier. Unless you pay for the $19.99 a year OpenDNS logging feature it won't log what sites are visited like the built in OS X parental controls does. So assuming OP is talking about OS X access only, parental controls will do exactly what he is looking for free.

I was referring to this service. The logging your are talking about is just a raw list of DNS lookups. This paid service is an actual organized log like parental controls provides.

I'll check this out.
