Are shared photo streams a thing of the past?

I currently use this to share photos of the kids with the relatives, will I lose this ability in ios8. From what I read, It seems icloud will be more like dropbox.

Is there an ability to share folders like in dropbox?

Shared photo streams are staying. You'll be able to continue doing what you're doing.

it IS become more dropbox-ish but it's an added feature. Meaning everything else stays the same.

iCloud will be like dropbox although still driven by app support on iOS but the Share photo streams remain untouched as they aren't stored as part of your iCloud storage.

Cool thanks for the info. I like shared photo streams. Didn't want to lose them

I really hope Apple gets this right - though Dropbox really has it perfect. Automatic sync that works across multiple platforms. I wonder if iCloud will go beyond just Apple devices.
