7 years of the power button being on the top and they mess with it. I just tried doing a screen shot and then it hit me ... I hate the power button the side!

HATE it.

It feels akward and unnatural. Apple products just work ... This doesn't. Screen shot top and bottom ... When I did it felt like I might drop it while trying to do it.

And what if you hit the power button during a call while holding in your hand???

Feelings???

It is awkward at first, but having had the phone a couple of days, I'm getting used to it.

Also I just tested and hitting the power button doesn't do anything during a call...

It only bothers me because I end up hitting the volume at the same time. :( need to get used to this. I think the bigger screens however are great..

I hate it. It is even worse trying to turn it off in apple's leather case. It takes me several seconds to do it.

2,555 vs 4 days for the side power button makes sense to wait a little.

I like the side power button because the big size of the iphone 6 it is difficult to reach.

Take some time and you will find that it is the best location

My iphone 6 case already has a wear mark where the location of the power button used to be LOL! Gonna take some getting used to.

You're doing it wrong. :p

It does the same thing on mine as it always has during a call.

Hm, no, it must have been my phone because I tested it earlier and just now and it didn't do anything other than turn the screen off. I tested it again while writing this and it ended the call, so I'm guessing that this is what you're referring to. :p Idk why it didn't do it before, though it's funnier to me that in the five years I've had an iPhone it's never been an issue for me to the extent that I didn't know what it did.

I still don't see it as a huge issue with the new design, though, because with the placement of the power button I literally had to adjust my hand while holding it up to my ear in order to be in danger of hitting it. I'd just say give yourself some time. :)

Yeah, I'm with the OP. Seems like a mistake so far, not very user-friendly at all, at least on the 6+.

Yeah I keep searching for the button on top, and now I have to finger hunt the side for it.

Sadly mine still on order, so will have to wait and see! But when I tried one in the shop did appear that the phone was too big to keep the power button at the top!

I originally hated it on the Moto X when I first got it, but now I can't live with the power/sleep button being anywhere but the side.

Go use any HTC phone and then you'll definitely appreciate it on the side.

It took two days for me to get used to it. It's better on the side than at the top because it's easier to reach when using it one handed. Unfortunately it sucks for left handed people. It's much easier to reach when using it in your right hand.

On my wife's 6 I found myself also pressing volume up when pressing the power button. Have to adjust the grip to hit power without doing it.

I'll have to report back when my 6+ comes.

FYI. this joke stop being funny years ago.

Personally, I prefer the silly "old" jokes to the utterly ridiculous complaints:

"I HATE the button on the side"

"The home button clicks too loudly, Apple is losing their edge"

"The icons are too flat, what are they thinking"

"Steve never would have..."

Once again I got fooled into opening a thread because of the exclamation mark!

For people coming from the 5S, I understand why this is awkward.

For those of us coming from other large phones, its the logical spot.

Just give it some time.
