Photos taken with 6 Plus disappear sometimes

I don't know if this is a problem, but sometimes I take a photo but when I click on the thumbnail on the lower left of the photo app, it doesn't show the pic to me and I can't find it anywhere.

Is this an iOS 8 problem or a phone problem?
 
I've had this happen one time, but on a 6. I think it's an IOS 8 thing.

I could see the thumbnail, but the pic wasn't in my camera roll. And after I took the next pic, it was just gone.

I'm kind of relieved to see it happened to someone else too.

Are there 8-ish or so people in the photo? That used to be an issue.
