I have not tried it yet, but it appears like Windows is getting more and more influence from Mac OSX - atleast feature wise. I am sure it won't be as good though!

They even skip Windows 9 and jump straight into 10.... Yosemite 10.10!
With a release date next year they will have plenty of time to see what works well in Yosemite.

I just installed it on my old 2008 Mac Pro with 1TB PCIe SSD boot drive and Yosemite with Parallels 10 . I have the new late 2013 6-core Mac Pro and might install it using Boot Camp when Apple comes out with support for it.

I put it in Parallels 9, and it works nicely.

So far I like it compared to Win8.

Just a quick short of it running in Parallels on my iMac OSX 10.9.5.

Is it possible to 'install' win 10 preview without a dvd drive

Please advise if possible what this will require I don't currently have parallels/dvd drive/usb flash drive

....now downloading 14 day trial parallels..planning to install win 10 preview tomorrow night

there is a universal key for Windows 10!

and you will find it on the dowload sites.

Problem: want to install it in Parallels 9, but requires a Usb driver for my internal DVD drive? So, decided, to install an upgrade from Win 8.1 instead.
Do anyone know, where to get an DVD driver and which one? iMac 12.2. Thx!

There is no key for Windows 10...

read the post properly.....the trial key I am unable to retrieve if for parallels/9 or 10 14 day trial after downloading and creating an account:roll eyes:

I've since run win10 consumer preview via VMware fusion 7...its running very smooth, though not tempted to make return to /windows/pc since upgrading from windows 3.11 to win 95.:

Looking forward to Yosemite full release though I may have a wee tinker with win 10 tonight

Just wondering though when I installed the consumer preview it looks and operates like win 10 though there is no reference to say its win10 consumer preview..like some earlier post so not sure if its legit

Windows Preview on external drive?

I am assuming this is not possible but maybe someone can let me know.

Is it possible to install and run the Windows Preview off an external hard drive like you can with Yosemite & other OSX? I'm assuming the only way to do this is to actually boot OSX from an external and then create a bootcamp partition?

Also is there any easy way to have two bootcamp partitions or a second Windows partition without too much fiddling.

I am currently running it in Parallels.

Thanks

LOL from 3.11 to win 95 that was a while ago. Win 95 was not that bad btw.

Windows 10 Preview Enterprise

i read, the Enterprise version has a Windows to Go feature, so try it out, if it can be installed on external harddisks.

There is no key for Windows 10...

Actually there is a product key ( NKJFK-GPHP7-G8C3J-P6JXR-HQRJR ) found on the download page of the Insider Program from Microsoft. But you're not prompted to enter it during installation. When I checked the activation in Control Panel it said Windows was activated already.

Yes you can, just download the ISO of Windows 10 and you're good to go.

I love Windows 8.1 it is a really solid product , I do not know why people dislike it so much it is much better than the original Windows 8 , it looks really modern and works great . Windows 10 is definitely better though I like being able to run the modern apps on the desktop and the start menu is great . Microsoft is really becoming a great company lately . I love mac but Windows has really come a far way and I think it is just as good now and does pretty much everything a mac can do . There really is not that much of a difference between mac and windows anymore .
