Ahead of today's special iPad and Mac event, Apple has made its "Apple Events" channel available on the Apple TV.

In addition to live streaming on the Apple TV, Apple will also be streaming the event live on its website. In order to watch the stream, users will need to be running Safari on Mac or iOS.

Apple is expected to introduce a number of new products at the event, including the iPad Air 2, the next-generation Retina iPad mini, and new iMacs with at least the 27-inch model sporting a high-resolution Retina display. An update published in error to the company's iPad User Guide for iOS 8 revealed some details about the new iPads which will feature a Touch ID fingerprint sensor. Apple is also expected to preview OS X Yosemite one final time before its official launch, and some rumors have even claimed that the company may announce updated Mac Minis.

Apple's keynote kicks off at 10:00 AM Pacific Time, and MacRumors will also be providing a live blog and live tweets via the MacRumorsLive Twitter account.

I will strangle the next person to use that joke about it being in Mandarin with an HDMI cable.

Great, I'll get a chance to practice my Mandarin ;)

Brilliant :D

TBH though, they deserve all the ribbing that comes their way. That keynote, for a tech company, was embarrassing.

Let's face it, many people would not only watch online live but also download the podcast later and watch it again :apple:

Exactly what I do most of the times. The live-stream is often horrible (there are good episodes) so I download the podcast and watch it again at ease.

Me too, because Apple certainly will not repeat that disaster a second time. They are definitely able to top themselves!

This time, the livecast will be dubbed in Swahili and Ancient Greek, simultaneously. Also, the slides presented during the event will be upside down, and the faces of the presenting Apple executives will be overlaid with funny pictures of cats and random celebrities. At random intervals, rabid rats will be released onto the stage, and the "One more thing" final announcement will be the news that Carrot Top's new movie will be available for free on iTunes and will immediately be uploaded to every iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Apple TV, Mac and Newton.

I've always preferred the October event to the September one because it's usually Mac centric. Can't wait for today. Nothing groundbreaking, but some really good products coming. Very excited about Yosemite and iOS 8.1.

Just thought I'd reinforce this. The iPhone 6 keynote was an absolute joke! I'm sure they have got their act together this time round, but also I can only imagine that the traffic will be significanty lower for the iPad event so hopefully these issues don't happen again!

wonder if they will ever go the Samsung route and get B+/A- celebes, DJ etc

i could see miley cyrus introducing the new iPad in a 'twerk-off' with Tim Cook, with that god-awful Will-Iam DJing
(tim would win of course)

I could never imagine Apple ever doing this

Given Apple's bad luck with recent events/software/leaks I hope they nail this one.

It's just a video stream and its 2014...... ;) Simples.

I'm so excited. This is going to be a truly amazing event. I'm off to the shops soon to stock up on goodies for a viewing party I'm hosting. Anyone else hosting one today?
