I've never experienced that before haha

That's on a fresh restore of 8.1, no mail push, less than 10 apps, low luminosity, 5 cell bars, system services turned off

Same story on my 6 Plus (2h44m usage at 61%). Hopefully Apple comes out with a minor update in the future to bring battery life back to 8.0 levels.

Maybe we need to fully discharge it and then charge it to 100%?

Oddly enough, I was experiencing the exact opposite. I was having terrible battery life with iOS 8.0.2 and so I was eager to try out the new update mainly for battery life over anything else.

I am happy to report impressive battery life since the update so it seems to be working well on my iPhone 6

Restart your phone, somebody on the forum said that this is what fixed their battery drain issues.

If I can get 1 hour of moderate usage per 10% I am happy. Right now I am at 89% with 1hr14min of usage and 6hr14min of standby. I'm getting about the same as 8.0.2, maybe a tad better because I've been doing more heavy usage on that 1hr14min than I normally do.

my 6 Plus was draining significantly after i updated even on standby but i simply turned the device off and on and battery is trickling down like 8.0.2 which was good.

The 6 looks to be draining slower than on 8.0.2. ^_^

I noticed after upgrading to 8.1 a lot of apps I turned off in background app refresh turned back on after the upgrade. I since turned them back off any my battery life is back where it was which is great. I only have a few health apps on in background app refresh which seem to want that setting on.

I have the same odd "100%" even though I have 28 minutes of usage and 2 hours of standby. Think it may be a bug.

On another note, I have "Music, Background Activity" for 5% over the last 24 hours and have no idea what that is, any ideas? I don't have music playing or open or anything.

Thanks for the heads up. Turns out three apps had background refresh turned back on in my phone after the update. We'll see if this makes a difference. Even discounting that, there's still a huge discrepancy in my battery life though.
