I bought a secondhand me294 today and it has 768 GB SSD

The model is APPLE SSD SM0768F. I've googled it and seems that there is no info about this. Also seems that Apple only has two option 512GB and 1TB for the SSD.

Do you know what the model is? Is it fake?

Thanks a lot!

This is a 2012 special order

That option was available in the 2012 rMBP it will have a NVIDIA 650M graphics card as well to double check. Enjoy your mac they are still a great computer.

I'm pretty sure it is ME 294. it has NVIDIA 750M, Intel 4850HQ.

Also I used BlackMagic disk speed test. The read and write speed are > 800MB that can't be 2012 model?

The detail is

Well then it could be a fake.

As you say the ones 2013 onwards have 512 or 1 TB ssd, the 2012 had the 768gb option I have no idea what you have.

----------

If it is all good don't worry about it but you may want to contact the seller and find out why???

yeah all is good, i'm happy with my first Mac :)

Could it be a drive from other Macbook air, iMac...?

I thought that

I thought that it may have come from another macbook pro but I'm pretty sure it was on a different connector......
