Not sure if its because servers are flooded with requests, but I can't pull down the 8.1 ipsw from apple's servers. Tried all last night to no avail, same problem today.

Anyone else having this problem?

Already read that thread last night. I'm not having iTunes issues, but I can't download the raw file. I don't see many people having a need for the ispw other than those jailbreaking or at least hacking things up to some degree.

Thx for the tip though.

Everyone with an iDevice who wants current firmware has to grab the IPSW (many still use iTunes to update).

Understood. I updated my 7.0.6 iPad last night via iTunes and it brought it up to 8.1 without even a pause.

Just seemed weird that the direct ipws links were returning errors. Was just seeing if anyone else had this problem or if there were any alternate providers outside of the direct from apple route.

I'm pretty sure the servers are getting slamed.
It took like 2-3 hours yesterday for iTunes to download and restore my iPad to 8.1

See, that's whats weird, I just re-restored my Ipad and phone to 8.1 through iTunes and it did all its work in under 20 minutes.

Yet, I can't even 'begin' a download of the actual ipsw, page just throws an error everyplace I try.
