The old @me addy is playing havoc with Notes syncing. Because I sometimes use an older Mac with the old style Notes embedded in the email inbox the cloud sometimes creates notes based off the old @me addy even though it's not in my mail settings. I often get dupes of Notes. It's really weird.
And as you know if you go into iCloud and check aliases that old @me is an alias you cannot delete.
Anyway this old @me is linked to a current Apple ID for purchases AND it's linked to my @icloud address as an alias like I said above.
I have no problem creating a new iCloud account since they're just throw away and not used for purchases. I have backed up my bookmarks and Notes ready to copy and paste into my new iCloud account. That would truly be separate from the @me address.
Problem is that old @me address is also linked to my gmail AppleID I use for purchases. That also cannot be deleted from the AppleID management page.
Is that going to be an issue? There's no way to create a new AppleID for purchases and be able to re-download purchase right? I'd have to link that new gmail address to my previous AppleID which then would automatically link to the old @me address.
This is nuts how Apple won't let us delete @me.
