After upgrade to iOS 8, I've constantly bombed with the "No SIM installed" message on my iPad Air. I've tried to ask Siri to turn off "Use Mobile Data" option; and I've also tried to temporarily install the SIM card from my iPhone and turn that option on-and-off. The message will cease for a while, but it will eventually came back in a few days or even hours.
Last month I've tripped to United State, and I bought a prepaid SIM card from AT&T. When I returned home, I left the SIM card in my iPad Air, though I could finally get rid of that annoying message. But soon I found another issue: the iPad is now constantly asking me to update the "Carrier Settings," even when the "Use Mobile Data" option is turned off.
That message appears both on iPad and Mac. Every time when I launch iTunes on my Mac, it will then discover iPad via WiFi, and the update carrier settings message will pop up. Every time I'd click the "OK" button in the dialog box, iTunes will show the download process bar and "Update complete" message. But after I quit iTunes and relaunch immediately, it will ask me to update the carrier setting again.
Any tip for a possible fix ?
