Hey everyone,

I have an iPhone 5S that was bought on contract, so its locked to my carrier here in Canada (Telus). I bought an unlocked iPhone 6 Plus and it arrives this week. I bought the unlock from Telus and did all the steps through iTunes and got the message "congratulations" etc etc confirming that it was unlocked.

Now I want to sell my phone to a friend who is from Europe, I dont have another SIM card on me, but how confident can I be that the phone will work in Europe on European carries? I dont want to sell the phone only to have it not work there.

Anyone have any thoughts how I can see if it would work in Europe?

For band compatibility check the model against this list (scroll down for 5S): https://www.apple.com/iphone/LTE/

So long as it's band compatible, unlocked is unlocked. If you got the message on itunes it's good to go. If you still want to double check, simply borrow any non-Telus nano SIM and see if it takes it. Doesn't even have to be a live SIM as best as I remember.
