Let's promote tax evasion, right?

According to the MacMall site, they only have one retail store and it's in Santa Monica, CA. So, it would appear that they charge sales tax in the rest of those states because they're required to do so per the laws governing sales tax collection on online sales for goods being shipped to those states.

* Avoidance. Big difference. :)

Tax evasion is a felony. Tax avoidance is brilliant.

As mentioned by a poster earlier, in most states you are actually supposed to fess up on the amount of goods you purchased by mail order from out of state and then pay your state's sales tax on them. Many states have a line for this on their state income tax returns. Since MacRumors is promoting that you will "save" the sales tax in addition to the discounts being offered, they actually are promoting evasion rather than avoidance. You may legally avoid it now, but if you don't fess up at year end and give up the "savings", then you are evading.

This is probably one of the most evaded taxes out there!

Gee thanks MacMall!

Anything but MacMall

Sorry, but no. It's MacMall.

Nothing but bad experiences. Back orders, attempts to substitute.

I'm happy to get an iPad Air 2 for $70 less than retail for the base model! (With tax)

Just what I need...$501 off!!!

Well, maybe in 3 or 4 years when I can save that much. ;-)

In four years that machine will be around $2000. Now your goal is even easier to reach!

Good luck selling those downgraded 2014 Mac Minis, lol. They're quickly heading down the path of the iPod Classic. Heck even the iPod Touch is heading down the path of the iPod Classic at this point.
