I purchased this from OWC and I am pleased with it. Pretty easy to remove the spinner, but know it voids the warranty on the enclosure. Sadly finding an enclosure only is pretty tough and after much searching read a quick blurb on Bare Feats with the idea.

Edit, just saw matreya's post...

I want to buy a thunderbolt enclosure for an SSD to replace my boot drive for my 2011 27" iMac.

I've been looking at the LaCie Rugged Thunderbolt: https://www.lacie.com/se/products/product.htm?id=10629

But it comes with a hard drive. Where can I get just the enclosure?

You can usually find refurbished units at LaCie or MacMall for around $100, then remove the hard disk and repurpose or sell it and install your SSD. This is one of my favorite enclosures with both Thunderbolt and USB 3.0 capability. And, it can boot external Windows via Thunderbolt.

Currently on sale for $99 here:

You can also get a Seagate GoFlex/BackupPlus Thunderbolt Adapter which will accept a bare drive, and then search eBay for empty GoFlex/BackupPlus disk enclosures for a finished look. These used to be $99 at Amazon, but it seems they have gone up at the moment. Check eBay for these as well.
