If you're going to use your phone for calls, texts, a few apps and pictures then you'd be fine.. but you'll have to constantly put your pics and music on your computer to save space. Honestly, I'd get a 64Gb so you won't have to worry about manging it.

I have expertise on this. I use16GB and just look what I can do.

It's right on the cusp of what I actually need. Never using too much. I like to delete.

Install Dropbox on your phone and set it up so that all pics+videos get automatically uploaded to your computer when you take them. Then you can just delete the stuff you don't really need all the time on your phone

Most cloud storage services like onedrive, google drive, icloud, dropbox etc. can automatically upload your photos and videos so you don't have to worry about those, so really it's just up to how many apps you want to install.

Here's my 16gb iPhone 5. I don't use a cloud service for photos yet. I offload them about once a year.

I had a 16GB iPhone for a while and I hated it. I was consantlly managing the space on my phone. I was always moving pictures and videos, deleting music to add other music, not having enough space to updates iOS or even some apps, and other stuff. I got the 65GB and it's so nice not to worry about any of that stuff now, I just enjoy my phone and about 15-20GB free for anything I want.

Definitely agree with you... Cloud services apps are the best thing to help with the constraint storage on 16GB iDevices. And iTunes Match is useful for not relying on storing music on the the iPhone.

Or music streaming services, like Spotify. If you have premium, you can download songs and play them offline. They don't store on the phone at all.

It is worth it if you can score a 64gb model.

I do believe spotify stores the offline songs on your phone since mine is at 1.6 gb. But dont quote me on that

My 16GB iPhone 6 Plus is doing great, 600+ songs, 40 apps (including some big games) and still got 2GB free. No problems here.

It really depends on how you use your phone. IMO go for the 64 gb one

My 16G 5s is working fine for me for the time being. I only have about 250 songs on it, around 250 photos, and about a dozen additional apps from what came on it. I do not play games on it, so I've still got a little over 7 GB free. However, next time around I will be looking for at least 32 GB, because my curiosity and needs are growing.

I have a 16gb iPhone 5 which I've had for 2 years.

I have 52 apps. 200 songs and 700 pics and still have 5gb left.

Last month I did sort through and remove some pics but besides that I've never removed anything and I've never been close I running out of space.

To be honest if I could justify or afford it I'd get the 64gb just because.

But I have an iPod with all my music on and an iPod for videos so it's not an issue for me.

I get by on 16 easily. As others have said, it depends on how you use your phone. you have to offload your photos/videos regularly to either a cloud service (I use Dropbox) or to your computer. As long as you don't have a huge music library and don't have an obscene number of apps 16Gb is more than enough.

I have a 16gb 6 for work and you can get by if you only use your phone for work but you will have to manage the apps you use - only keep the ones that are the most important and forget about games that are really big.

getting a 16GB 6+ was a bad move at my end. i regret it now. i should have spent $100 more to get the 64Gig :/

I have a 16GB 5S with 9.5GB free. I only have useful apps loaded, keep a minimum of music, and move photos to my MBP. My next phone will be a 64 gig.

I keep my music on my iPod touch and a lot of my films on the iPads, for the phone I just decided to keep it apps/photos and I'm okay with the 16GB.

Save a little more and get at least a 64gb phone.

I have always had 16Gb iPhones, purely because I don't think the higher capacity models are worth the extra cost. However as time has gone on i'm finding 16Gb becoming more and more constrained.

I think iCloud Photo Library is terrible, have ended up switching it off because it went mental a couple of weeks ago and kept putting 2 or 3 copies of the same pictures on my phone. Also when I was deleting images they were reappearing by themselves from iCloud just as fast as I was deleting them! I think I may use Dropbox or Flickr apps to manage my photo backups. At least that way you can delete them on your phone and they STAY in the cloud unlike iCloud Photo Library.

Also music has become an issue, I don't store any on my phone anymore and use Google Play Music instead (which is FANTASTIC!). Install the app on your mac or pc, point it in the direction of your music folder, it then uploads all your songs to the cloud where the iPhone app can stream any of them instantly. It also has an offline mode where you can tell the app to download certain albums to the phone (just in case you are not near a data connection, going abroad, have a data cap etc) Well worth a look if you have never tried it.

Id love it if 32Gb became the base model, but I don't think thats gonna happen for quite a while yet knowing Apple.

As others have said, it mainly depends on what you are going to use it for mostly.

Just stream your music and videos. Delete games you no longer play. Use cloud and streaming services. Keep apps you really need and delete ones you rarely use. If you love storing videos and playing games, then 16 GB wouldn't be enough for you.

I can manage with only 16 GB (12 GB avail) because I just store my files in a flash drive and recently bought a slim 500 GB Toshiba portable drive at Best Buy for only $35. Get any portable hard drive for under $50 at half a terabyte or more and you should be good. I still have 5 GB left on my phone and just transfer it to that Toshiba Canvio Slim II.

Since I love videos, I know even 64 GB isn't enough for me. I already filled up about 87 GB with 370 GB downloading a ton of YouTube videos including nearly 100 music videos in HD. Luckily, my phone can do OTG and I have a TV that can read most memory storages. Getting a 64 GB for $100 can be a waste of money especially if 720p videos can eat up so much space and most expandable memory cards or flash drives are under $35 with 500 GB-1 TB portable hard drives offering even better value. When you own a portable drive with 500 GB/1 TB, even videos at 1-4 GB start to feel small. At 64 GB or 128 GB, it isn't.

With Verizon and AT&T having done away with unlimited data, managing with just 16GB of local storage for me means spending an extra $30 per month for a bigger data bucket so I can stream everything and keep re-downloading apps because I need to keep deleting stuff to make space on my phone just so I can take some pictures and videos.

Needless to say, I have a 64GB iPhone 6 (which will be replaced with 128GB of the new model come September/October).

Mind, I'm still building a portable, battery-powered Raspberry Pi 2 based media server with 2TB 2.5" USB HDD.
