I'd like to dual boot Yosemite onto an existing windows 7 install on my MBP 7,1. I installed a new 240GB SSD and ghosted my previous Win7 (which was the only OS on the MBP at the time). There is no osx recovery partition. I left 60 GB empty space to partition and install Yosemite and then i did an internet reinstall of OSX. This failed as it wouldnt let me partition the empty space because it something like "cant partition because disk is formatted with MBR (master boot record which is a windows thing yes?)
Is there anyway around this without trashing my Windows7 install?
TL;DR
- MBP 7,1
- new SSD with no OSX recovery
- master boot partition and another partition with Win7
- cant install Yosemite because OSX internet recovery disc utility says cant partition disc because of windows MBR (master boot record)
- any way to hack this without losing my Win7 install?
